2009 Wrap Up
2009 has gone by all too quickly and I’ve again gotten behind in updates! Several THF riders
moved onto college this fall and the barn almost feels empty without them. I want to wish
Alexa, Kyana, and Danielle all the best in their new adventures and can’t wait for them all to
visit soon.

Izzy, aka “Cimply Spot On” began her eventing career this fall, relocating from
the farm in Washington state to the Stanford Red Barn for 6 weeks of training. Not only did
Izzy finally get to work in a real arena, she went on her first x-c outing, competed in her
first show, and did a jump clinic, all without so much as a second glance. She is confidently
jumping the Training level banks and ditches, not to mention drops into water and Novice lines.
I can’t wait to start up again with her in the spring, but for now, she’s wintering at the
farm where I expect she’ll have yet another growth spurt.
This winter, I’ve been offered yet
another incredible opportunity. One that I hope will step my own riding up to the next level.
I’ll be heading to Florida in January where I’ll get to meet up again with my past coach,
Cathy Wieschhoff, www.cwevent.com. I’ll
be spending 2 weeks training with Cathy and her coaches, Karen and David O’Connor. Excited
doesn’t even begin to describe how I’m feeling at this moment. Cathy has always been
supportive and this is yet another reason why I have the utmost respect for her as a rider,
trainer, and person.
Congratulations Sophie!
Congratulations to Sophie on the purchase of “Annabelle”. Annabelle is a 6yr old ISH mare,
imported from Ireland in September 2009.

Inavale HT
THF Student Alexa Wolf and her own “Kalypso’s Page” wio the T3Day at Inavale in June. I can't
even begin to express just how proud I am of this pair, all the hard work has paid off in
spades! Alexa and Kalypso not only took home the blue at this incredibly tough event, but also
brought home a new saddle, piles of prizes, and the award for Best Conditioned Horse.
Congratulations Alexa, you have finally learned to "Ride Better".
